My passion for Bikes. What am I. DC
« on: June 26, 2018, 07:02:04 AM »
Hey All I'm DC (Daniel Chung), Born and brought up in Bangalore and I love to travel and ride. Well my journey till date began when I was a kid my dad had a lambretta yellow one with the black stripe and I was so confused to see the gear shifts on them back then as it was hand gear, same time was curious to try it my self. One day took the scooter for a spin and did like the feeling of riding a bike. Started to learn riding during college on my friends Suzuki Samurai the No Problem Bike yes indeed it hardly had issues just fill fuel which was 35/38₹ that time and keep on riding. Soon had my DL done took the same Samurai for the DL test and passed 😀.

Then Biking ka KEEDA bit me and brought my Bro in laws RX135 5 speed and man that was a speed machine that time. This was with the CC silencer. Loved the machine did a lot of mods on it and it stood out from the odd. On the RX135 did my first ever trip with my friend to Ooty now this is close to 18 years ago roads were deserted and we were cruising on the RX. However I was little disappointed as within 2 years after having the bike YAMAHA decided to stop RX production, so keeping spares and service in mind I decided to sell it. Next got my hands on the PULSAR 150 UG3 one of the top selling bikes and had many firsts at that period. Went on few trips and upgrade from 135 - 150cc was good. After 2.5 years planned for a upgrade as that time the Pulsar 200cc first edition was launched in that blood red paint job looked stunning, so sold PULSAR 150 to my friend and brought the 200 . Power of 200 was really awesome on the highway you could do 138 kmph tops bike looked muscular and a head Turner for sure. But my happiness was short lived as Bajaj decided to stop the PULSAR 200cc again due to spares and service decided to sell it after 2 years. Meanwhile mom wanted me to have a bike so that every one at home can use it then came ACTIVA second generation looked good and best for city rides, one of the best and refined engines from HONDA, but told my mom it's not serving my purpose for travelling far distances, so gave the active to my sis and got home a super Bike looking bike HERO HONDA KARZIMA ZMR white which was launched with a price tag of 1.16L I know it was too much but it was one of the best looking bikes at that time except for few vibrations the bike was pretty good. Again after a couple of years HERO and HONDA split and at that time my front brake master cylinder was damaged looked all over Bangalore and no one had it. Placed the order for the spare which took a month to arrive. But again due to spares and service sold the bike . Then it was back to Bajaj picked up the limited edition black and white PULSAR 200 NS, as family was against DUKE 200 so brought it and man it was an awesome bike but the earlier NS were not refined very harsh engine noise , gear change noise and vibes which the current generation does not have . Did some long trips with wifey and friends, it's good but runs out of steam fast. However nice street fighter looks . However again Bajaj discontinued that too now all of the bikes I had were all discontinued looks like bad luck to me. Sold the NS and waited without any bike for 5 Months and then came the DOMINAR 400 and for city commute have a YAMAHA FASCINO, hopefully if still alive and kicking would love to have a SBK someday.

I'm a grease monkey and like to get my hands dirty minor repairs and DIY I like to do them myself.
I ride for myself to go places and meet people.
‌What I'm today as a biker is the experience gained from the past 18 years and this will keep increasing as we ride further. I Admire THE DOCTOR Valentino Rossi and his riding skills.

Bajaj is known to discontinue their bikes all of a sudden with out any notification hope they don't do it for D400.

2017 been a part of DOCB and it's been a wonderful experience sharing and taking knowledge and advise from fellow bikers. Proud to be a DOCBian.

Do share some exciting road trips, locations or options for us to ride as well. Looking forward for more :)
