Tata Nano is no More!
« on: July 11, 2018, 05:10:22 PM »
What started as one man's dreamdid become an achievement years later.  The time, the effort and that undying sense of achievement that in 2008, took the world by storm! is no more.

Yes,  it's true! Tata Motors has stopped production of the people's car! The 4 wheeler that gave so many families a chance to rekindle dreams is now just another page is the automotive history of this value-conscious country, that only looks at value for money. More is never the merrier. The hard work and effort of hundreds is now going to be called a failure! This is sad but a learning for all automotive giants, we are Middle class ruled economy, everybody wants more!

I feel it was inevitable....If you look at the last few years top cars sold....we have moved from the Altos on the top to swift desire ....speak a lot on disposable income and purchasing power now.....as you rightly pointed out ....rise of middle class

Yes Rohit today we see less number of Nanos on the road , reason being competition. Also if u send when the car was launched it's was 1 lakh and today it's no longer a lakh. Today we have better machines which look like a car for a little more price like the Datsun brand. So if Nano could have been 1L then at least it would have some buyers.

I feel Tata got it wrong from day1 though it was a brave move.
They advertised the concept to be a 1 lac car, Which never sold for 1lac rupees . Got a lot of negative marketing from media, even one in a ten thousand incident highlighted in a way every Nano is faulty and the competitors killed it with more and more cars near that segment. If executed well it would have been a JIO of motor world today.
