Engine oil leakage observed multiple times
« on: June 22, 2018, 11:13:31 AM »
Hello DOCBians,

This may sound silly to you. However i just want to check how many of you observing this kind of leakage with your engine. I have observed the engine oil leaking from the engine multiple times and changed the filter also. But this is observed regularly now. I guess the engine oil change interval is 5000Kms. My last oil change was at ~13.5K oddo and the current oddo is ~17.5K. Changing engine oil at every 5K is fine but i am not getting why it is leaking. Sharing your experience or views is much appreciated.

It looks to me that it's leaking from multiple points. One of them I can see is from your oil filter. O-ring is not installed correctly I assume. Can you please try to source the exact point of oil leakage? It would also be helpful if you could clean the engine with a good wash and observe again to ensure it's not earlier residue.

My Domi is 9k now and no I don't see any of the above signs yet.As mentioned by one of the fellow members yes looks like there multiple places from where the oil is leaking. Could b some gasket which could b at fault. Show it to the SVC n have it fixed.

Looking at the picture, i can say the leak is from the oil filter section, the culprit is oil seal O ring, i had this in initial days..

Just checked after washing and driving for around 100Km. You can see the place where the oil is leaking. Not sure its the problem with oil
seal O ring. Anyway i will check it by this Saturday at SVC.

Seems like the issue is resolved. At service center they found out that the case bolts where loose. Tightened it and drove my bike for around 200Km. No leaks observed till now. Hoping for the best in future.

Hey ,

It shouldn't leak so much considering the one run.

Looks like it's leaking from around the mounting parts.

This happens when the nuts and bolts are not tightened to the correct torque.
Advise the service center folks to tighten all the nuts and bolts of the engine and casing.

Also it is normal to see some amount of oil seeping through the casing after running the bike for prolonged periods of time cause as far as I know, bajaj has not so good engine packing material and o rings which tend to wear out very fast when fully synthetic oil is used.

Solution : tighten all the nuts and bolts , if that doesn't work, repack the engine parts with new case and o rings.
